The Journal of Research on Engineering Structures and Materials (RESM) is pleased to announce a forthcoming Special Focus Issue on:
Embedded Systems in Sol-Gel Science and Applications
Embedded systems—integrated hardware and software units designed for specific tasks—are indispensable in modern engineering and technology. From automotive safety systems and medical devices to IoT-enabled smart appliances and aerospace applications, embedded platforms provide reliability, efficiency, and real-time performance.
With the rapid growth of materials science, Sol-Gel science and materials are finding increasing synergy with embedded technologies. Applications include advanced sensors, protective coatings, thin-film deposition, and smart devices that demand lightweight, durable, and high-performance solutions. The convergence of Sol-Gel materials with embedded systems opens up exciting opportunities for real-time monitoring, automation, energy efficiency, and intelligent control across industrial, environmental, and scientific domains.
This Special Issue aims to bring together interdisciplinary contributions at the intersection of embedded system design and Sol-Gel material applications. We welcome high-quality original research and review papers that explore innovative methods, practical implementations, and future perspectives.
